How To Get P Rank Cuphead

This page mainly serves to simply describe the grading way for the game. Grades go down every bit low as the D- all the way to A+ and somewhen S rank (Run and Guns give grades as well, with the P being the all-time).

Here are the basic criteria for grading in each level:

Fourth dimension

For time, you are looking to complete the dominate/level rapidly. For the most part, your objective for a "practiced time" is less than 2 minutes. Any time less than 2 minutes will turn gold on the post battle screen. We volition discuss some ways to improve times on particular bosses.

Health

Health just requires you to not take hits. The one matter to continue in mind here is that it has nothing to do with remaining health. The score is always based on the 3 hits you lot could take without whatever power-ups. For example, if you equip a +1 Heart, and take 3 hits (thus leaving you with ane HP), you would receive 0/3 for your score even though you had i HP left.

If you're aiming for a high form (A- through S), there is no point to having the +ane or +two Heart equipped. 3 hits (which would kill you without it or leave you with i HP with +1 Middle) would knock you out of the A- rank anyhow.

Parry

You will be asked to get 3 parries during a fight. These can exist simple or actually infuriating to time out when to aim for them. A parry only counts when it also increases your super meter. For instance, during the dominate fight with the boxing frogs, there will exist a slot machine with the lever you need to parry. This does not count for the parry score. I will try to indicate what does or does not count during each boss.

Supers

For supers, you will be tasked with hitting on 6 super attacks. The important thing to note is that a total bar super attack (5 cards saved up) will still count for 5 supers (for the first i, information technology tin count for less if you don't hit for each frame of the attack).

In terms of how all this translates to a grade, this is how I started to go used to it:

In general, the time requirement shouldn't exist likewise difficult to satisfy. Some bosses are a little slower, only you shouldn't need to concern yourself besides much as long equally yous go along to assault.

HP and Supers were categories I needed to (and usually did) score high on. Supers were easy to get 6 and in many cases I was striking 10 in a single circular (only six count still though). Health took me really focusing on learning patterns and building the muscle memory for getting away.

Parry was e'er my weakest in a fight. I needed to force myself to take the risk to go my A-ranks at some points. Maybe y'all'll accept better coordination with it than I did, but it was a bear at times.

Each missed point is roughly a sign down on your grade. For example, missing one indicate somewhere will move you from A+ down to A. This will continue from at that place. The big takeaway here is that if you miss a combination of iii points (2 HP, 1 Parry or any combo of 3), you are knocked out of any A-rank (A+, A, or A-). If you're aiming for Southward-rank (you need one for an accomplishment), y'all can't miss on annihilation (including time).

Difficulty Annotation:

The difficulty volition decide the "skill" level at the bottom. This really denotes what your max class could possibly be.

Simple - No thing how "perfect" yous do on this difficulty, I've only seen up to the B-range given for course. Unproblematic will not honour yous an A-rank for the fight. Y'all won't be able to use this difficulty to knock out those pesky A-rank achievements.

Regular - You tin can get up to an A+ on this difficulty. This volition require absolute perfection though (all parries, supers, HP, and fourth dimension).

Skillful -Y'all tin accomplish an S-rank on this difficulty. Similar to A+ on regular, it requires accented perfection to unlock. I've only got this rank a couple of times myself on Isle I bosses. If going for this accomplishment, put your focus at that place.

Run and Guns

The actual ranks you get hither "don't thing". The only ranks nosotros volition talk over here is the P-rank. I unremarkably did two runs of these levels. The first was to go all v coins in the level. My second time through a level was for the Pacifism (P) rank.

To achieve a pacifism rank, don't shoot anything. Only don't hit cn_X ever! You can parry the pink stuff (and I highly recommend information technology). You will want to save up v cards to become the Invincibility (Super Ii) saved upward. A few seconds of invincibility tin make a large difference on some levels. Besides that, those are the only things yous can practice.

With each level/boss that follows, I will aim to give best equipment selections and routing to try and help you go the high grades for all achievements.
